Haven't seen one exactly like this before |
I have been looking for a coffee table for a while. It seems that there are about 5 modern coffee tables that are somewhat appealing, and most of them are very expensive. DIY seemed the logical choice.
I did the design in metric units just to see if the result would have a sense of scale that made it feel Japanese or at least European. I am sure that designers all over the world round to the nearest convenient unit, and so the unit of measure finds its way into the design.
Here is the table before lamination with Formica. I am having a hell of a time finding someone locally who stocks Formica laminate. Most places offer to order it though, so I will get some eventually.
